Management Center (Cyprus) and
with support from European
Commission held 2 days the
Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
workshop in Baku, Azerbaijan on
May 20th-21st,
2011 with participation of 30
Civil Society Organizations
representatives.
The MDG Workshop gathered
together the local trainers, the
recently trained participants,
the local partner, all
associates as well as other
relevant stakeholders and local,
regional and national
authorities to learn about the
MDGs and to facilitate the
exchange of experience, good
practises and provide an
opportunity to form future
relationships and
collaborations.
This activity served increasing
awareness in Azerbaijan about
the MDGs and the interdependence
between EU and development
countries. It also served as an
educational and informational
workshop to mobilise Azerbaijani
civil society, actively engage
them and empower them. It served
to mobilise public support
including public authorities.
The workshop raised awareness on
development issues and MDGs on a
broad level that investigates
their possible long-term impacts
on support for poverty
reduction.
