CAREC Institute, ADB, held research workshop in Almaty on 21-25 October with participation of leading regional think tanks and world academic institutes. Researches (Structural Transformation; Management of Resource Revenues; Regional Cooperation; and Macroeconomic Issues) in the four areas of the CAREC Institute have been discussed in the workshop.

Vugar Bayramov, chairman of Center for Economic and Social Development (CESD), attended the workshop as representative of the center. He mentioned that in the Management of Resource Revenues area, Professors Anthony Venables and Rick van der Ploeg, from the University of Oxford, have been working with researchers and helped develop this research program. The objective was to develop a working relationship between regional leading think tanks and leading universities, including Oxford, Harvard and Cambridge.

As leading economic think tank in Azerbaijan, CESD is only one from the country involved in CAREC regional programs.
