Center for Economic and Social Development (CESD), Azerbaijan held Annual Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan on December 29, 2010 with participation of representatives from government institutes, Azeri Parliament, Civil Society organizations, European Commission, USA Embassy, Swiss Embassy, Lithuanian Embassy, USAID, Counterpart International, academies, universities and other local and international donors. The conference was supported by OSI Think Tank Fund within the “Core and Institutional Support Program”.

Dr. Vugar Bayramov had opening speech and mentioned that this year was specific for CESD not only because of the center became larger, increase number of programs and improve financial sustainability but also the center was able to influence government policy by submitting policy recommendations and policy papers. More than 10 recommendations were approved by Government of Azerbaijan which submitted by the center in 2010. Relations between CESD and other stakeholders, such as government institutes, civil society organizations, Parliament, international organizations and mass-media were extending. Now, the CESD is implementing policy oriented programs not only in Azerbaijan but also region countries.
